Securing the Texas Border

I believe that Texas needs to declare an invasion of our border in accordance with Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which grants states the power to repel invasions in the absence of federal protection. Pending this, we must have a frank debate about how many people can legally immigrate into the U.S. Washington must then take its direction on those states like Texas who are bearing the brunt of the cost associated with all types of immigration.

It is way past time to get serious and practical about illegal migrants.  Illegal immigration puts incredible strain on our schools, among other things. Our teachers are already asked to do the impossible with crowded classrooms and dozens of accommodations for different student needs. Add to that children who barely know English or who may be suffering neglect at home due to the challenges facing migrant parents working 18-hour days, and instruction time begins to evaporate.
