Helping Texans with Mental Health Needs

Texas ranks 50th in the U.S. when it comes to mental health support, and I support Governor Abbott in tackling this problem and its often tragic effects in our communities. Rural mental health in particular faces an additional set of challenges. I support increased broadband in our rural areas for mental tele-health resources, as well as the interstate compact on mental health services which recently passed the Texas House. There’s no one silver bullet to address this great challenge, but it starts in our communities without question.
